At Fake a Photo, we can convert photo to black and white or monochromatic for a dramatic effect.
Convert to Black & White Photo Example
In this case, we wanted to convert the image to grayscale with high contrast. We retouched the photo to remove unwanted clutter, converted it to black and white and added some halo lighting effects. We used several partially masked layers of the image to adjust the levels independently to get a more even tone. We also masked out the outside area seen through the door and added a outer glow to it, to create the lighting effects and so the viewer could more easily focus on the subjects.
How to Convert Photo to Black and White
It is very easy to convert an image to black and white, also known as grayscale or a monochrome image. If you would like to do it yourself:
- Open your image file in Photoshop®.
- In the menu bar, choose Image > Mode > Grayscale.
- You may also want to adjust the levels or contrast to get the best results.
- Save a copy of your file. You now have a black and white photo!
